Prayers for Inner Healing

for the Spirit, Soul (mind, will, and emotions), Relationships, and Finances.

Ask Jesus to help you in any area of your life where you are hurting and believe that He will answer your prayers even if you only have faith as small as a mustard seed. He can move whatever mountain you are facing in your body, mind, spirit, relationships, or finances.

Jesus says to you in Matthew 17:20, Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

This is an important time to recommit your life to Jesus or to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior because HE is the One who does the healing.  HE is the one who can change your life for the better as long as you ask Him to with your whole heart.  Just say,

I declare with my mouth that Jesus is Lord.  I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.  I know that I am a sinner, and ask You to forgive me of all of my sins. I surrender my life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  Thank You for giving me a brand-new life!  I am now certain that I will see you in Heaven after my earthly life is through. Thank You, Lord, for Your love and forgiveness  and that I am washed clean and that You will remember my sins no more because You promise me in Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.

HEALING OF THE SPIRIT

From Healing Rhymes for Happier Times by Chaplain Madeline Tom under the pen name of Madeline Joy Grace, 2009.

A new heart I will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and give you a heart of flesh.

(Ezekiel 36:26 Amplified Bible)

We are broken in so many places

That we cannot function in many cases.

Burdened by anger, guilt, and grief,

Our souls cry out for some relief;

Our deep pain and shame cause us despair;

Only Lord Jesus can bring healing and repair.

Lord Jesus can heal you in all those painful places,

Then you can fully live without sad faces;

So come, Lord Jesus, and let them see

That You’ve come to heal the brokenhearted and to set the captives free.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

(John 16:33 NLT)

Jesus carried all of your sins to the cross with Him

And died for you to cleanse you of your sins;

So ask the Lord for the forgiveness of all your sins to get you out of your spiraling downward tailspin.

You will be absolved of that guilt and not feel damned,

Because you will be washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb.

If you confess to Him and sin no more,

It won’t be made public because God keeps no score.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son

that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:16 NKJV)

Jesus I Need You - Hillsong Worship  -

So say this simple prayer to start your new life:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I want You to give me a new life;

I tried to do it on my own, but only caused myself great strife.

Please forgive me of all of my sins and unrighteousness;

I earnestly want to be free and full of righteousness.

I declare Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior

Who died for my sins, rose again from the dead, and is my Deliverer.

Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit.

To You, right now, I fully submit.

Take away anything from me that is not from You

and fill me only with what You want me to do.

Thank You, Lord, that I am free from guilt and shame,

From now on I will never be the same!

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Let it be clearly known and understood by you, brethren, that through this Man [Jesus] forgiveness and removal of sins is now proclaimed to you.

(Act 13:38 Amplified Bible)

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

(2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible)

I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

(John 10:10 Amplified Bible)

Healing of the Soul

Unforgiveness is the greatest block to healing.

“There is an enormous physical burden to being hurt and disappointed,” says Karen Swartz, M.D., director of the Mood Disorders Adult Consultation Clinic at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Chronic anger puts you into a fight-or-flight mode, which results in numerous changes in heart rate, blood pressure and immune response.

Unforgiveness is linked to higher incidences of stress, heart disease, high blood pressure, lowered immune response, anxiety, depression, and other health issues according to a Johns Hopkins study. Broken relationships affect us deeply, especially when bitterness sets in.

Prayer of Forgiveness

Dear Lord,

Help me get on with my life and not be a prisoner of my past;

Help me to heal from my suffering at last;

Give me the courage to forgive even unforgivable pain;

I no longer want to be choked by that chain;

My unforgiveness doesn’t hurt my offenders, but only hurts me;

I no longer want to imprison myself; I want to be free.

Dear Precious Friend,

Picture yourself when the hurt first came in—

See yourself in that situation and let the healing Jesus enter in;

Ask Him to walk into the room and then start

to talk to Him and tell Him what’s in your heart.

Name the pain that you have borne:

Childhood trauma, death of a loved one, adultery,

abortion, guilt, rape/incest, thievery,

addiction to drugs, sex, gambling, alcohol,

anger with God, and even more.

Tell Jesus everything that you’ve held so long—

Forgive that person and even yourself so you can move beyond.

Forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.

Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

(Colossians 3:13 NIV)

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:  It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

(Romans 12:19 NIV)

Lord Jesus, please help me to forgive everyone in my life

Who has caused me such great strife;

I forgive my mother/father for screaming and beating me in his/her rage;

I forgive my brother for hurts too painful to say.

I forgive my sister for being so cruel;

I forgive my friend who seemed that way too.

I forgive my uncle who died long ago

and the person I called “The Beast” who hurt me above all.

I forgive my teacher for crushing my feelings;

I even forgive myself for hurting others in my dealings;

I forgive my children—of their love I’d like to have a portion—

and I forgive myself for having an abortion.

I forgive anyone I feel made my life go awry,

And especially You, Lord, when I felt You’d let my precious child die.

Because I felt abandoned when You didn’t answer my prayer,

I really didn’t know that You were always there.

When I earnestly asked You, Lord, “Where were You when my child died?”

I heard You say, “Here -- the same place I was when My Child died.”

Thank You for setting me free from unforgiveness!

Now to all who hurt me, I truly bless.

FOR A MIRACULOUS MIND

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing

of  your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is,

that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

(Romans 12:2 NASB)

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind;

And you can start, first, by being more kind,

By giving to others every day.

This will help to chase the blues away.

When you focus out instead of in,

You will begin to win

Over the complaining spirit within.

For if you think yourself a victim, you are.

If you think yourself a victor, then you are;

One’s perception is one’s reality,

and your focus determines your reality.

Focus on what you are grateful for;

Refocus on something to look forward to;

Prophesy into your life all the good things you want to achieve;

Nourish your mind with healthy goals and truly believe

That a change of attitude will surely bring relief.

However, it’s always good to check with your doc

to make sure a chemical imbalance is not causing the block.

Keep a Gratitude Journal every day.

Write down five things that made you happy that day,

Even if it was just that café au lait.

Would you do it s’il vous plait?

One’s perspective can set the foundation

For suffering through life or finding elation?

Accept what you cannot change,

But that which you can, set about to rearrange.

Remember, God gave us all free will

You can choose to live in despair

Or climb up that hill!

If you’re sad or depressed,

You can get out of that mess

By putting on a goofy smile

or dancing carefree for a while.

Studies have shown you really can’t

Simultaneously feel appreciation and go on a mad rant!

So give thanks for big and little things each day

and that’s how to help keep sadness away.

Follow the passions in your life,

This will lead to a meaningful purpose and away from strife.

Please check out the film It’s a Wonderful Life.

Let your gifts and skills unfurl,

And you will make a difference in the world.

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God that is within you.

(2 Timothy 1:6 NIV)

To get satisfaction from your life

and not feel overwhelmed with strife,

You must have structure with a daily routine.

Interact with people—a community.

Find a purpose to wake up for each day,

And don’t forget to add some play.

Going through bad times is really a bummer,

But it makes you really appreciate the good times

when things take on the promise of summer?

You really are God’s gift to the world;

You are a one-of-a-kind, beautiful pearl;

You are here to change at least one other person’s life for the good.

Now, there, is that understood?

We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

(Ephesians 2:10 NKJV)

Be kind to yourself—

Forgive others, as well as yourself,

For past hurts and pain;

This will help you to move forward again.

Develop all your gifts and develop new skills,

Instead of just taking more and more pills

To mask the unhappiness that you have from the past;

It’s now time to move beyond all that at last.

Use the past pain to ask what you’ve learned,

And turn it into wisdom so you don’t again get burned.

What have you learned you could share with a sister or brother?

All of us have some wisdom we can impart to another.

Use your intellect and spirit to create new meaning out of your past pain.

What did you learn from it, and how can you help others not to go through the same?

Instead of feeling like a victim going through life,

Use your wisdom to help others through similar strife.

Wisdom and Consequences are our two greatest teachers—

With Wisdom, we learn a lesson from the experience of other human creatures;

With Consequences, we make a mistake, go through the suffering and pain,

Then learn the lesson ourselves through what we gain.

Therefore, share your wisdom with others

To keep suffering and pain away from another.

Try to make wiser choices,

Because the person you are today is the sum of your choices.

Choose your battles, especially with the ones you love;

Attempt to treat people with kid gloves.

Ask, “Will my determination to be right

Cause us to disunite?”

Don’t waste a moment of your precious life

In unnecessary strife;

Don’t live a moment in a self-imposed jail

Because God gave you life to enjoy fully and not to travail;

He came to set the captives free

And those He sets free are free, indeed!

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

(John 8:36 NIV)

Dear Lord,

Mold me into the person You want me to be,

and set my imprisoned mind free.

Thank You, Lord, for answering prayer.

In Jesus’ name, amen

You Raise Me Up by Josh Grobin

SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Sometimes there are times in our lives when negative forces cause upheaval in our lives.  That’s when we are being attacked by the devil/satan and his bullies. The word devil/satan is intentionally written in lower case because he has no power over you. Therefore, do not be afraid and trust the Lord’s protection and obey His commands. 1 John 4:4 tells you that “the One (God) who is in you is greater than the one (the devil/satan) who is in the world." DO NOT be afraid because by doing so, you can overcome darkness and live a life of freedom and boldness.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

And Jesus answered and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ Luke 4:8

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

10-Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11-Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12-For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13-Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14-Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15-and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16-In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17-Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Eph 10-17)

1-Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2-This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3-but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

4-You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5-They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6-We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. (1 John 4:1-6)

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Father God in Whom we live and move and have our being, we enter Your gates with thanksgiving and into Your courts with praise.

Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to rescue me from the darkness into Your glorious light.  Thank You for forgiving me and giving me a new life with the promise of Heaven upon my earthly death. Thank You for filling me with the Holy Spirit who gives me power, comfort, and guidance, as well as wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in all that I say and do.

I place myself now under the cross of Jesus Christ and cover myself with the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ.  Jesus, call upon your Holy Angels and Michael the Arc Angel to protect me and those around me.

In Jesus’ name, I bind all spirits of the earth, air, fire, water, nature and the netherworld to go to Jesus for Him to do with as He will!  I reject satan, the father of lies, and all his works because he comes to kill, steal, and destroy.

I renounce every power not from God, specifically fortune telling, Ouija boards, Reiki, or any other occult activity in Jesus’ name!

In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind you, spirit of anger, lust, fear, infirmity, trauma, death, pride, bondage, jealousy, heaviness, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc., and replace any void with the love of Jesus!   Fill me with courage instead of fear, health for infirmity, forgiveness for unforgiveness, self-control for lust, and every positive attribute that I need to replace any evil attribute within me in Jesus’ name!

In the name of Jesus Christ, I take the sword of Your Word and cut free myself and future generations from the bondage of generational curses transferred through the generational bloodline.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!  Thank You for setting us free from the bondage of satan, moving us from darkness into Your beautiful light in Jesus’ name!

Thank You Lord that no weapon formed against my spiritual, physical, or mental being shall prosper in Jesus’ name, amen and amen!!  Hallelujah!  Praise the Lord.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.  John 8:36

It is Well With My Soul

HEALING OF RELATIONSHIPS

Do to others as you would have them do to you.

(Luke 6:31 NIV)

I bet you think, “Why can’t everybody be just like me?”

Life would be so much easier, don’t you agree?

You wouldn’t have to argue anymore and just have things your way!

Your personal and business relationships would all be OK;

Unfortunately, we have to interact with other people.

That’s just the way it is; we can’t just stare at them from high on a steeple!

Since that’s what we have to do,

I want to give you several good clues

To understanding personality styles a little better,

So you can deal with relationships without being fettered.

Let’s start with you: Have you asked Jesus to forgive your sins?

Because that’s where you must first begin;

Then go through forgiveness of yourself and others

Because unforgiveness hurts and smothers.

Interacting with some people can be very enigmatic,

But here’s a framework to use to make it less problematic;

You really can become a good people reader—

Even to the point of becoming known as a leader;

You will learn the four basic personality styles through the DISC.

Here are some pointers and it goes like this:

The Positive Side

D stands for DIRECT, a straightforward, get-it-done, problem-solving seeker;

I stands for INFLUENCER, an enthusiastic, wants-to-be-appreciated, excellent speaker;

S stands for SERVICE, a service-oriented, listening, creative, caring stabilizer;

C stands for CAUTIOUS, an analytical, fact-gathering, quality-control organizer.

The Negative Side

The D wants control and can become domineering and too impulsive;

The I wants admiration and can become manipulative and much too talkative;

The S wants approval and can become selfish and overly sensitive;

The C wants respect and can become critical, negative, and indecisive.

General Observations

The Direct person:

Shows power and authority,

Often acts impatiently,

Talks rather than listens,

Makes quick decisions.

The Influencer:

Is friendly and talkative,

Animated and informative,

Shares feelings with another,

Often exaggerates to others.

The Service person:

Has automatic listening skills,

Is helpful and diplomatic,

Asks instead of tells,

Doesn’t talk much about self.

The Cautious person:

Is highly organized,

Likes to categorize and systematize,

Does not discuss feelings,

Is conservative in dealings.

Under Severe Stress

The D becomes avoidant;

The I becomes compliant;

The S starts attacking;

The C becomes demanding.

To Reduce Stress

The D needs physical activity;

The I needs social activity;

The S needs free time;

The C needs private time.

Strategies for Getting Along with . . .

The D Person:

Make your case logical.

If necessary, be confrontational,

But don’t become too emotional.

The D is not sympathetical.

The I Person:

Compliment often,

Avoid any argument,

Share your emotions,

Show optimistic notions.

The S Person:

Give much encouragement,

Listen and give acknowledgement,

Show sincere appreciation,

Avoid any confrontation.

The C Person:

Use facts, logic, and be rational,

Do not become too emotional,

Stick to the point and be brief,

Too much talk will cause the C grief.

After learning about these four basic styles of personalities,

You probably see some truth in these generalities.

You can see these traits in a family member, coworker, or friend;

I know that sometimes they make you so mad that you really see red!

Most people don’t intentionally try to irritate you (even if one or two seem to);

It’s just their personality style that doesn’t agree with you.

We are all wonderfully and fearfully made by God the way we are

So we must embrace all people near and far.

If you use the people strategies as mentioned,

You’ll find your life easier with much less tension.

You cannot change the people in your life,

But you can change your attitude toward them to lessen the strife.

If you accept people for who they are,

Your life will be more peaceful and calmer by far.

RELATIONSHIP PRIORITIES

Make God primary,

Make family secondary,

Make your work and others tertiary.

Simple Relationship Rules

Rule #1: Treat everyone with respect.

Rule #2: Listen more and speak less.

Rule #3: Give respect to everyone.

Rule #4: Speaking less is the rule of thumb.

Always use common courtesy for all personality styles.

Saying, “Please” and “thank you” make you a winner by a mile.

Don’t hog the conversation

Because people will look at you with great reservation.

Don’t interrupt when another is speaking;

You will be considered rude and lose the respect you are seeking.

If you can’t say anything something nice about a person, don’t say anything.

When you are wrong say, “I’m sorry,” because to the other it will mean everything.

Pray to see each person through the eyes of Jesus.

That’s what truly frees us.

Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit),

sympathizing (with one another), loving [each other] as brethren [of one household],

compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble).

Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection,

and truly pitying and loving them].

For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God—that you obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].

For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good—whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile (treachery, deceit).

(1 Peter 3:8–10 Amplified Bible)

Dear Lord,

Thank You for helping me see people through Your eyes

and for helping me treat others the same way I want to be treated.

Thank You for answering prayer.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Words from Scripture to have a right relationship with Him because He loves you so very, very much –more than you could ever imagine!

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

(Romans 15:4 NKJV)

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and you must love your neighbor as yourself.

(Luke 10:27 NIV)

The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.

(Proverbs 9:10 Amplified Bible)

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,

out of the house of bondage.

You shall have no other gods before or besides Me.

You shall not make for yourself any graven image [to worship it] . . .

You shall not use or repeat the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, lightly or frivolously, in false affirmations or profanely]; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

[Earnestly] remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (withdrawn from common employment and dedicated to God) . . .

Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you.

You shall not commit murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not witness falsely against your neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, your neighbor’s wife . . . or anything that is your neighbor’s. (Exodus 20:2–4, 7–8, 12–17 Amplified Bible)

WORDS OF HOPE

With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.

(Mark 10:27 NKJV)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

(Philippians 4:6 NKJV)

My God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:19 Amplified Bible)

Whoever . . . believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.

 (Mark 11:23 NASB)

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

(James 4:8 NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

(Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV)

Rejoice always; pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NASB)

We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

(Romans 8:28 NKJV)

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

(Hebrews 13:5–6 NIV)

Thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.

(Matthew 8:17 Amplified Bible)

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

(1 Peter 2:24 NKJV)

You yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

(Colossians 3:8 NKJV)

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.

(Colossians 3:12 NKJV)

But as it is written:

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,

Nor have entered into the heart of man

The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

(1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

(John 14:27 NIV)

Heart of Gratefulness to God

Dear Lord,

I put myself into the palm of Your hand.

Thank You for bringing me into Your Promised Land;

I lay my problems at the foot of the cross.

Thank You for taking away my albatross.

I know that by Your stripes I am healed,

And my new life will soon be revealed;

Thank You for driving out all my painful strife

And giving me a new, joy-filled life.

“I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

(Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

Fill me with the fruit of the Spirit—

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.

May I also be filled to the full with joy unspeakable;

From this day on I know that contentment and happiness are now reachable.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus keeps His promises:

Promise Keeper by Hope Durst

Dear Precious Friend,

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,

from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,

that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,

to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;

and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

may be able to comprehend with all the saints

what is the breadth and length and height and depth,

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,

that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

(Ephesians 3:14–19 NASB)

Now may the Lord bless and keep you,

May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you.

May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you

and give you a PEACE and JOY that passes all understanding that will shine right through you.

May you be filled to the full with His grace—the unmerited favor and blessing of God.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen and amen!

In Christ’s healing love,

Chaplain Madeline

HEALING OF FINANCES

Finance, in our context of healing, goes beyond a focus on money or what money can buy.  It is about value and blessings.  It is about having an alert mind, a strong body, and the knowledge that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.  It is about having satisfaction with communion with family, friends, and neighbors.  It is about having sufficient funds for yourself and your family as well as having resources to help and bless others with tangible support (funds, materials, resources).

Importantly, God wants you to live abundantly as said in John 10:10 in the Amplified Bible: The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. However, the motive of your heart must be pure and not greedy. Always give to give out of thankfulness and not give just to get.  Always remember: The Lord alone gives and takes. Job 1:21 CEV.   An important aspect of the spiritual law is being generous to others. Give and you will receive.

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure -- pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return. Luke 6:38 Amplified Bible

This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message Bible).

The Word of God in the Holy Bible is strong and powerful. Use the words in the Bible to achieve your financial well-being.  However, for it to work, you must believe it through faith that God’s Word is true!  When people speak negative words into their lives, prosperity will be difficult: “I know that I will always be poor because no matter how hard I try, I just can’t make it;” I know I’ll never get out of this debt;” “We’ll probably have to file for bankruptcy;” “I don’t think my finances will ever change for the better!”

Baldwin and I are a living testimony to the faithfulness of God’s words.  From a near-bankrupt point in our lives, God turned our financial future around in what we consider miraculous.  It was a time when we both depended on our own efforts, without support from salaried positions.   During a downturn in the economy, all funds effectively dried up and we had to borrow to survive.   Our company, The Baldwin Group, Inc., was a consulting company that depended on finding projects and was impacted by the poor economy, as well.  Filled with worry and fear, we had to trust God to take over our concerns about possible bankruptcy and loss of our home.  We prayed to cast out the spirits of fear and poverty, read God’s words, and continued to tithe during this dark period.   In the midst of this period, the Holy Spirit was working behind the scenes to bring people and opportunities to us.  We shifted from being a consulting business to a federal contracting one that overnight grew The Baldwin Group from two employees (Baldwin and I) to 150 employees!  So, after 30 years with The Baldwin Group, we are now retired in comfort in our golden years. God has blessed us with more than we could ask for or even imagine!  Now we live to give to others our time, talent, and resources. Praise the Lord!  Thank You, Jesus!  Hallelujah!

You, too, can have abundance.   Pray as it depends on God and work as it depends on you.  God will act on your behalf as you speak and follow His Words. Release God’s promises through faith-filled words!  By speaking the Scriptures daily, you are showing God that you are in alignment with Him, and His creative power will change the circumstances in your life. By speaking the words of Scripture, you are building faith in your heart, which will bring God’s creative miracles to pass. Jesus said: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Luke 11:9-10.  Charles and Annette Capps are two individuals who lived their lives with God as they speak, seek, and knock!  They believed in the spiritual law to understand that you have to say what you want.  God’s Words are supernatural.   For finances, a good booklet to purchase (from Amazon) is God’s Creative Power for Finances, by Charles and Annette Capps.  An important aspect of the spiritual law is that you have to choose your words – words that help you to prosper or words that do not help you to prosper.  Indeed, those who do not act with knowledge of the spiritual law will sabotage their prosperity with negative thoughts and words.  You have free will to decide. So, choose your words wisely!

Follow these Scriptures regarding wealth:

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the first fruits of all your crops;
 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
    and your vats will brim over with new wine.

  Proverbs 3:9-10

One person gives freely, yet gains even more;
    another withholds unduly but comes to poverty.

 A generous person will prosper;
    whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Proverbs 11:25-25

Those who give to the poor will lack nothing,
    but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.

Proverbs 28:37

 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God

 with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

 This is the first and greatest commandment. [39] And the second

 is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

 Matt 22:38-39

Repeat three times a day. (Charles and Annette Capps):

The Lord rebukes the devourer for my sake, and no weapon that is formed against my finances will prosper.  All obstacles and hindrances to my financial prosperity are now dissolved. Malachi 3:10-11; Isaiah 54:17

And I believe this with all my heart, Lord! Thank you for answering prayer in Jesus’ name, amen and amen!!

Prayer for you:

Dear Holy Spirit,

Thank you, Lord, that My Friends will draw closer to You as You draw closer to them.  I put them in the palm of Your hands to take away the spirit of fear and the spirit of poverty regarding their financial situation.  You see how they have been struggling from day to day.  Grow and bless them into the person that you want them to be because You said to them in Jeremiah 29:11: I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message Bible).

Lord, give them increase and enlarge their territories.  May they prosper as their souls prosper.  Do not hide Your face from them.  Pour Your infinite blessings upon them so they can be a great blessing to others. May they thank You out of an abundant heart because You told them that You came to give them life and to live it abundantly.  Thank you for loving them and keeping Your promise to them.  In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen and amen!

Happiness/blessings come in the backdoor as you are giving out the front door.  A few examples of what you can do to bless others:

Give 10% of your income (tithe) to your church.

Pay for someone’s groceries in line behind you.

Pay for someone’s restaurant bill.

Give generous tips to the restaurant waitstaff.

Give to the homeless.  What they do with the money is not your responsibility. Just find satisfaction in knowing that you gave to another human being with good intentions.  God sees the motives of your heart.

Volunteer your time and talents to worthy organizations such as churches, hospitals, homeless shelters, etc.

 As the saying goes, “What goes ‘round, comes ‘round.” If you want to be blessed, bless others with kindness. If you want negative/bad things to come your way, treat others badly.  A great way to show what happens when one gives is to see the testimonies and gratitude notes you receive, the good feelings from giving to others.  We pray that your future is filled with tons of people showing gratitude to you for the generosity of your time, talent, and resources because God has blessed you with a huge overflow of blessings as He has us.  Thank You, Lord!  Hallelujah and amen!

Below is my favorite thank you email when we owned The Baldwin Group, Inc. Every time I read it, it always puts a smile on my face.  Indeed, we are blessed to be a blessing to others.  You can never outgive God! 😊

Madeline and Baldwin,

I wanted to take a quick second to thank you both for the generous Christmas bonus this year!  I have been working since I was 14 years old (I'm now 43), and have NEVER received a bonus!  It was very unexpected, very generous, and very welcomed.  I have a son who started college this past fall and have a freshman daughter in high school, so any extra funds are welcome.

Thanks again and have a Merry Christmas!  JM
